• Job Description:

    Lab Technicians are employees of the lab who have been trained on lab procedures. Lab technicians may be any employee in the lab, if they have documented training for reading and following SOPs, performing appropriate QC checks, and informing the Laboratory Director, Technical Director, Quality Assurance Officer, or a Chemist, when problems occur.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • The Lab Technician will be responsible for all the steps involved in sample analysis for testing of cannabis products, with the accuracy and precision our clients count on.

    • The Lab Technician will prepare client samples and QC samples, handle solvent and other reagent preparation, and instrument loading.

    • Some general instrument cleaning and maintenance may be performed.

    • The Lab Technician will also analyze, or review data collected by the analytical instruments.

    • Understanding and conforming to the applicable regulations regarding analytical procedures and data collection is paramount.

    • Candidate will be required to follow the safe lab practice, keep and maintain accurate laboratory records.

    • Perform daily calibration verification checks for all equipment.

    • Perform sample preparation, analysis, and data review utilizing validated analytical methods.

    • Demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritize projects efficiently.

    • Maintain a safe, clean, well-organized, and efficient laboratory work environment.

    • Remain up to date on all SOPs and maintain documentation required for compliance.

    • Assist in maintaining the laboratory accreditation status with a constant mind for future audits.

    • Organization and supply stocking of work areas, ensuring adequate inventory of laboratory supplies is on hand and available.

    • Perform cleanup actions such as emptying tubes, clearing old samples from inventory, etc.

    • Assist with preparation of in-house quality control samples and other special projects.

    • Work on projects assigned by lab management and work in collaboration with other technicians.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university is preferred.

    • At least 2 years of experience in a regulated or high throughput laboratory environment is preferred.

    • Exceptional wet laboratory technique and commitment to precision and accuracy

    • Ability to perform documentation for ISO/NELAC standards.

    • Candidate must have some hands-on familiarity with the analytical instrumentation: LCMS/MS, ICP-MS, PCR.

    • Some knowledge of microbiology and sterile technique is beneficial.

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
